With the 2025 Evergreen Park election just around the corner we wanted to share with you a video giving you a brief introduction to the candidates followed by an overview of some of the goals they plan to accomplish presented by Ryan Reitz.
Evergreen Park has grown over the past 20 years and so has the village's needs, but the people currently elected who have held power for decades have not listened.
Help us elect candidates who are not career politicians so they can effectively take on projects and infrastructural maintenance the village desperately needs.
We believe the safety of our community should always take priority.
Businesses new and old have always defined our community and our goal is to foster an environment to help them thrive and provide more job opportunities to our community.
When it comes to Infrastructure the current candidates are a dream team. With Bill's experience as Director of Public works, Ryan's background in Project Management, and Terri's reputation for timeliness there's nothing they can't accomplish!
A political system without term limits is easily taken advantage of by career politicians.
The last time that wages were reported on the Village website was in the year 2023.
The residents of Evergreen Park deserve to see where their money is going!
The last time an annual financial report was updated on the Village website was in the year 2022.
How can residents expect that money is being spent the right way if they don't have access to the most recent financial report?
The Village of Evergreen Park is in violation by not providing a section on the website where residents can view FOIA requests.
What are they hiding?
The Village of Evergreen Park made under current leadership delayed the approval of a plan that would have received much more state funding to make less of an impact on the homeowner.
As residents of Evergreen Park you deserve the utmost transparency.
When it comes to your tax dollars you should know exactly where they go, when they go, and why they went!
Why is the Village website so old and not user friendly? This is where the community engages with those who represent them! It should be seamless and transparent.
Let's face it, you're busy! Whether you use your free time to take part in a hobby, you're busy working, taking care of a family or all three you deserve to be a part of village meetings on your own time!
Currently, meetings are transcribed and audio recordings are posted. Let's get real. It's 2025 and we are more than capable of streaming

Just another way that we want to include YOU as a resident in what our Village accomplishes.
Evergreen Park's dirty secret is that rats have been taking over the Village!
Not only is this gross and a health hazard, but its completely avoidable by a large concerted effort and basic maintenance afterwards.

Bill is the person who designed this lead pipe replacement program for the Village!
Having done this service before in his free time, he knows what is involved and how much it should cost.

The Village has taken his plans and made them far more expensive than they should be... and transferred that inflated price to the homeowner!
When Bill first heard about a law being passed making this service required by the state he knew Evergreen Park had to jump on board early to receive funding... But the Village dragged their feet costing homeowners thousands!
Vote Evergreen Park Community Party if you want to save money as a homeowner and as a Village!
Bill has lived in The Village of Evergreen Park for 60 years. He was educated in Evergreen Park, graduating from EPCHS in 1975. After high school Bill began his career working for Evergreen Park Public Works. He spent sixteen years working in the Water and Sewer department as a state certified Laborer, Operator, and Water Plant Operator.
His hard work always stood out and this led to a promotion where he served as Water and Sewer foreman for 1 year before being promoted yet again to Water Commissioner and (state certified) plumbing inspector for 4 years.
Once again his dedication to The Village did not go unnoticed as he was promoted to the Director of Public Works and held that title for 27 years. During his career Bill also served as a state certified Firefighter II, Fire Engineer, and Paramedic for Evergreen Park in 1980, retiring from this position in 1993.
With 20 years of experience in the building department of Evergreen Park Bill is no stranger to large infrastructural projects. He knows who to call, what to pay, and when it should be done. The 47 years that Bill Lorenz spent serving The Village of Evergreen Park provides the experience necessary to tackle the current issues our community faces.
Bill Lorenz is a loving husband to his wife of 40 years, Linda, and a caring father to their son Loren. He has always been and will remain to be a pillar upon which our community relies, and he is asking for your vote to allow him to serve our Village as mayor.

Career politicians will hold power for a long period of time and they will directly oppose setting term limits for public office.
For example, there are some communities where people have served as trustee for 30 years!
Sometimes a career politician in a position of power will utilize government employees to sabotage anyone who threatens their job.
An example of this would be relying on outdated municipal ordinances that were overridden 14 years ago to illegally take down a competing candidate's sign on a citizens front lawn.
Public Act 096-0904 states that:
"... no municipality may prohibit the display of outdoor political campaign signs on residential property during any period of time ..."
One clear indicator that someone is a career politician would be that they use their decades in public office to give their friends and family members jobs that (usually) they are unqualified for.
This comes at an expense to the municipality because the friend or family member replaces someone who is more qualified for the position.
Evergreen Park municipal code stating that if private property is being sold to an employee of the village they must advertise AND accept public bids. . . Rita Brennan is a village employee who purchased the property from the village with her husband!
Make sure to specify if you would like a big sign (4x4) or a normal sized one.
Big signs are high in demand and are hand assembled by a volunteer so they aren't always available, get them while you can!
